I never really make a New Year's Resolution to be completely honest, despite the fact that I make my students write one every January. (sorry kids) I do have goals and dreams, but to say "this year I'm going to..." I feel like it sets me up for failure. haha...Especially since last year, I did actually attempt to make a few New Year's Resolutions, which included:
1. running in a 5k
2. working out
3. Spending more time with the hubby by going on vacations (trip to Greece was planned for August)
4. Going to church more
5. Being more frugal with my money
6. Make more homemade meals instead of eating out so much
Well, I nearly failed all of them since I found out I was pregnant in Januaury!!!! lol...
Between the puking and sleeping, I had no energy to work out, run any 5k, or go to church or anywhere for that matter! You could forget about Greece. Nobody wants to see a big belly in a swimsuit! lol...and saving money when I'm about to have a baby-yeah right! Now, I guess I could have made more homemade meals... if I wasn't gagging on the smells of the different ingridents.
So it proved my point. I would just fail if I made any New Year's Resolution. So although I have many goals and I look forward to so many great things in 2011, I will not tell you what they are (in fear they will not come true) :)
Just know, with having a brand new baby at home, 2011 will be the greatest year by far. I can't wait to witness so many "first" attempts from my baby girl. :)

Baby's First Christmas
Clarissa's first Christmas was filled love and attention from family members. Although she won't remember it, I can say this Christmas has been by far the best for me. I absolutely love being her mom. Holidays have a whole new purpose and I am so excited to go all out for every holiday just to see her smile. :)

Baby Clarissa Has Arrived!
So it has been 6 weeks since my baby was born. Being a mom has been the most rewarding experience ever. Everyday she grows and develops. I love the early mornings when even though I am beat tired, she is wide awake and alert. Lately she started giggling and cooing at the changing table. I love it! She is so cute! I don't know how I got so blessed. I thank the Lord every minute for her! She is the love of our lives.

Blogging
So I started this blog page about 6 months ago, but never really dedicated any time to it. I am determined to learn how to blog and keep my site updated. :)

When will it end?
I am very happy to report that I am 14 weeks pregnant, however this morning sickness is killer! Good news, I have regained my appetite (well, slightly) and I am not throwing up all my food. yay! I am also happy not to be experiencing this "morning" sickness all day anymore....HOWEVER, I would really love to sleep one full night without getting up to eat at least 3 times. I now have true "morning" sickness. Simply stated: My mornings suck! I would love to just get up and eat like a normal human being and be done with it. When will this end? I sometimes worry about the health of my baby since I feel so yucky. I also have to take iron pills because I am anemic now. :( ...I will be posting pictures of my growing belly soon.

Back to Work I Go!
The three weeks of drinking coffee in my pjs, time spent with Regis and Kelly, and no stress has all come to an end today. Semester 2 starts today, and I already have been receiving emails regarding students' grades. I just don't understand why parents don't read all the notices I send home, rather a few days before grades are finalized they want to inconvenience me and make miracles happen! I promised myself that I will not take things too personal this semester and not let anyone or thing get to me. I work as hard as I can and everyone I work with knows that, so I say, BRING IT ON!

January 10th- It's Our Anniversary!
Where did it all start?
Omar and I met in 1997 when I was 15 and he was 17. We both attended New Covenant Fellowship's youth group. I will never forget the first time I laid eyes on him...it was love at first sight (although he was unaware of my existence at the time) We dated throughout high school and it was in boot camp, I believe, when Omar realized how much I loved him. I waited patiently for him through the five years he served and honored our country in the Marine Corp. Although we had some bumps in the road in the beginning of our journey, our relationship was fortified through the time Omar spent in war in Iraq and the many sleepless nights I laid in bed clutching my blanket as I watched CNN with fear that something terrible might possibly happen to my beloved. Fortunately he returned healthy and in good shape. (You should have seen those abs!) We decided time was of the essence and didn't want to waste any more of it so we got married! We actually eloped in August, but nobody knows that (except you now)..
It has been 6 years of martial bliss! It is amazing how fast time flies. We are now approaching our late twenties (yikes!) and are ready to start a family someday soon. For now we are blessed with rewarding careers, Omar being a SWAT Police Officer for Escondido and me working as a 6th grade teacher for Lake Elsinore. We have a beautiful condo in Temecula and wonderful family and friends. :)
